Common questions
Before your private intro.
Pilates Forever is a Pilates studio in Pleasanton, California, founded by Alina Dovgal. We teach small-group and private sessions on Balanced Body reformers — 4.9★ on Google with 33 reviews and 4.9★ on Yelp.
Your intro class is on us. It's a dedicated 30-minute small-group session with one of our certified instructors — designed for new students so you can experience the studio, learn the reformer, and decide if Pilates is right for you before you commit to a longer plan. New students always start with the intro class, not a regular group class.
Every regular class — private or small-group — is 55 minutes, enough time for a full-body session including warm-up and cool-down. Your first intro class is a shorter 30-minute session.
Wear breathable, form-fitting clothing so the instructor can see your alignment. Long hair should be tied back. Grip socks are required and we sell any standard non-skid brand at the studio.
Just a reusable water bottle (we have Flowater filtered dispensers) and a sweat towel if you like. Everything else — mats, reformers, props — is provided.
Please arrive 15 minutes early on your first visit to sign in, take a quick tour, and complete your liability waiver.
Almost always, yes. Tell your instructor before class about any old injuries, sensitive spots, or medical conditions. Reviewers have come to us recovering from knee surgery, ACL repair, a broken back, and twin pregnancies — we modify exercises so movement stays safe and supportive.
Yes. We recommend everyone start with at least one private session so we can assess your posture, learn your goals, and tailor every exercise to you before you transition into small group classes.
We use Balanced Body reformers, the Pilates Cadillac (trapeze table), combo chairs, towers, magic circles, BOSU half-balls, the barre, jump boards, and trigger-point therapy balls — equipment from Balanced Body, the most trusted name in the industry.
Classical Pilates follows the original exercise order and principles developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s. We're rooted in that classical foundation and teach a comprehensive Pilates method — precise, breath-led, and built around core control, blended with modern, body-specific work.
Yes. Our 300-hour Pilates Teacher Training program is led by experienced master trainers and includes 100 hours of self-practice and 30 hours of career-focused workshops. See the Teacher Training page for details.

“I started Pilates to help rehabilitate my knee after a soccer injury. When I started, I couldn't even bend my left knee or do lunges and squats. Now, I have much more mobility and strength than when I first started.”

“I joined Reformer Pilates because I wanted to safely exercise after breaking my back in 2019. All of the instructors are patient with me, and helpful in every class. I don't feel rushed or pressured to go beyond what I physically can do — while still getting the most of my effort.”

“Pilates took 30 years off me. I am as flexible as I was in my 20s, worked muscles I didn't know existed, and I reduced 2 sizes since I started. Alina is the most friendly coach I ever met who deeply cares for all her clients.”

“Alina did a perfect job training and helping me with Pilates. I hurt my ACL last year and she helped me regain the strength in my leg and get back to exercise. I really appreciate her help.”

“I've been taking Pilates lessons with Alina for the last 6 months and I love it. I started because of my back pain, and she helped a lot to strengthen my core and muscles. Even after my pains are mostly gone, I keep coming back.”
